The Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty is currently seeking a Director of Operations. FLCB is a 14 county membership organization that encourages and promotes regional cuisine & agri-tourism with a purpose to benefit members and contribute to the viability of the region’s farm and food economy. FLCB is recognized as the region’s official cuisine and agri-tourism brand and resource for regionally grown or produced foods in the Finger Lakes area of New York State.

Scope of Work for FLCB Director of Operations:

Membership responsibilities:

  • send out membership invoices to any new member inquiries
  • receive memberships and record them in Wild Apricot software
  • receive membership payment, fill out deposit record and deposit funds in the FLCB bank account
  • respond to inquiries about membership (when last renewed, what to pay, etc)
  • send membership welcome confirmation letter with the sign and stickers (approx. 120 or more per year)
  • maintain membership email list and mailing database
  • send members email updates regularly, including recruiting content from members
  • quarterly, send spreadsheet of FLCB members who also paid for Edible Finger Lakes subscription to EFL accompanied by payment

Responsibilities for Board/outreach support:

  • attend monthly board meeting (requires a driver’s license and reliable transportation)
  • maintain board member list
  • work with board leadership on agenda setting
  • send out agenda to board members
  • in cooperation with FLCB Board Secretary review/send minutes
  • maintain FLCB board files (records of meetings, other activities)
  • support work of board committees as needed

Finance/Fundraising responsibilities:

  • work with Finance committee on record-keeping system
  • work with Treasurer to prepare financial statements and updates
  • receive invoices and pay bills
  • Grant writing and grant management as needed
  • Identify other fundraising options
  • Maintain access for checking account, savings account, and PayPal (including online)
  • Maintain payment system for events and membership online and via Square

Event support

  • Annual Harvest Dinner, (first Monday in August) at Geneva On The Lake: coordinate with committee members to coordinate food, beverages, program, publicity (working with chefs, wineries, GOL, musicians, speakers, etc. as needed)
  • Harvest Dinner promotion –press alerts, posters, etc.
  • Work with silent auction coordinators on donation tracking and follow up on payments; receive auction payments and make deposits
  • Attend the dinner, help coordinate, receive auction payments


  • field inquiries about FLCB, including media
  • maintain WordPress website, including blog posts
  • maintain website member directory, including updating member profiles
  • maintain Facebook page, including regular posts

Other attributes: the ability to work from home, experience with WordPress, writing skills, own computer to work from, and reliable transportation.
