Buy Local campaign: We all know that buying local is better for consumers, businesses and communities. But why is it better? And where, when, and how do you buy local foods and products? FLCB is dedicated to helping answer these questions, giving consumers the information and resources that they need to purchase local foods and products. Through radio and magazine ads, printed brochures, and other materials, FLCB promotes the local flavors of the Finger Lakes. Contact us to receive hardcopies of FLCB’s Buy Local brochure.
Annual Summer Harvest Dinner – An annual celebration of the region’s bounty, FLCB’s Annual Summer Harvest Dinner brings together our wine trails and features seasonal farm products prepared by the area’s top chefs, resulting in an extraordinary evening celebrating our region’s “terroir.” The dinner has become one of the region’s premier food and wine events. In addition, it generates funding to support FLCB’s efforts to promote the region’s bounty. FLCB’s Summer Harvest Dinner is hosted on the 1st Monday of August each year. Annual Networking Meeting – From the beginning, a central mission of FLCB has been to promote networking amongst our members. Our first regional food networking meeting was held in December 1999. Since then it has become an annual tradition, typically hosted in early December each year. FLCB’s Annual Networking Meetings provide an important forum for Finger Lakes producers, wineries, chefs, and other tourism and hospitality industry members to meet and make business connection and share ideas about expanding and strengthening our region’s cuisine and culinary tourism assets.
